• 1976 moving to Salzburg
• 1983 Mag. Phil. for German and English Studies at Paris Lodron University, Salzburg.
• 1984–85 Community Service at the "Lebenshilfe" home for mentally and physically handicapped aduts in Wals-Sietzenheim.
• 1986–87 Lecturer at the University of Kingston upon Hull in Yorkshire, England.
• 1987 Researcher at the “Institut für Erziehungswissenschaften”, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg.
• 1987–91 Researcher at the “Institut für Alltagskultur” on socio-cultural affairs in Salzburg.
• 1991 – 93 Headmaster of the Salzburg House of LIterature.
• Seit 1993 freelance filmmaker, writer and musician.
• 2001 Guest Professor at the German Summer School, University of New Mexico, USA.
• 2003 Max-Kade-Artist in Residence at the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
